FAQ - Medical Treatment in Israel from UNIMED

I’ve decided to go for medical treatment in Israel and I’d like to use UNIMED to help me plan my visit. What should I do now?

First, congratulations on making such a wise decision. We will endeavor to live up to the high standards that you would expect from any world class medical facility. Our operators are standing by waiting to take your call at our hotline on: +972-74-7025-280. Note that international connection charges will apply and that you’ll need to dial a prefix for international phone calls from your country (In the United States for example, you would dial 011-9272-74-7025-280).

You can also contact us by filling out an application on our website. Once you do so, one of our representatives will be in touch with you and will discuss your care in your own language.

How Will My Medical Treatment In Israel Be Arranged?

Our team of specialists will ask for a complete medical history from your local doctors. They will review the history and arrange for a medical consultation team to plan your course of treatment in Israel. Each plan is individualized and will be presented to you for your approval before you arrive. You will also be informed of the name of your attending physician, the approximate expected length of your stay and of course the cost of your expected treatment. Please note that once you arrive in Israel, your course of treatment cannot be changed unless we find that the initial diagnosis was incorrect.

I’ve Received My Plan of Treatment. How do I Decide When to Depart?

In essence, you will decide on your own date of departure, subject to available space in an Israeli clinic which has been approved by UNIMED. Our specialists will work with you to ensure that you get the treatment you need as quickly as possible while also ensuring that the very highest standards of care are adhered to while you are here.

Do I Need Travel Insurance When Visiting Israel?

Yes. You should get travel insurance while visiting. While it will not cover your treatment in an Israeli hospital, it will cover any issues that arise which are unrelated to your medical tourism treatment plan.

How Do I Get to Israel?

You are welcome to purchase your own plane tickets or you can ask us to arrange everything for you. At your request, we can (for an additional cost) also arrange for our specialists to meet you at the airport and we can even arrange for an ambulance to be standing by to take you directly to the hospital upon arrival in Israel.

What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?

You will be required to pay for all medical treatment in Israel in advance of receiving treatment. Payments can be denominated in Israeli New Shekels, U.S. Dollars or Euros. Payments can be made in cash, with credit cards (Visa or MasterCard only), via ACH bank transfer or with travelers cheques. Sorry, personal checks are not accepted for medical treatment in Israel through UNIMED.
